The first thing to know is that there is actually no need to update anything even though you have changed the domain / URL of the blog, as long as the AdSense code used is correct and the blog complies with AdSense policies, the ads will still be displayed and valid.

3.       Select My Site

6.       Click on the domain you just added, toggle the toggle to on (verified) to verify that the site is allowed to show ads for this AdSense account

As explained above, you can simply add a new domain to your AdSense account. An old Domain that is no longer used and not renewed will not affect your AdSense account. Now, everything will run as usual on the new domain.
