If the jailbreak method is successful, then the device, in this case the PS5 will be able to be further tweaked and installed with various illegal software or games. Well, this PS5 Prime jailbreak technique was first shared by a console modder on Twitter who has an account with handle @SpecterDev.
In a post, SpecterDev said that this jailbreak method with the name" Cryptogenic/PS5-4.03-Kernel-Exploit " allows users to install games independently, not through the Official PlayStation Store store. One of them is a PS4 game made by Hideo Kojima called P.T., which is a teaser for the latest game from the popular horror series Silent Hill that has not been released to the public. As is known, in addition to through physical games (discs), PS5 users are required to install games from the PlayStation Store if they want to play the digital version of a PS5 game.
Can be installed but cannot be played
Regarding the first jailbreak technique earlier, a Twitter user named Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) immediately indulged in the jailbreak process and installed the P game.T. on his PS5. The jailbreak process seems to run smoothly and the installation of the game is quite smooth. But after installing, the game turned out to be unworkable.
Although the game cannot be run, the jailbreak method shared by SpecterDev earlier at least proves that the PS5 console system can indeed be broken like the previous generation console like the PS4. But for now, users who jailbreak seem to only be able to install a variety of software into their PS5 system. In the future, users may be able to install and play the software or game without having to visit the PlayStation Store, of course, if this jailbreak method continues to grow. This jailbreak method can be done by everyone, and it is called that it can only be run on PS5, which has firmware with version 4.03.
